The first step of addressing pain is to relieve the tension that is causing distress on the body using self-massage methodology

After the tension is released, we use facilitated stretching to get the muscles to work properly

I am passionate about what I do because I like to see improvement in quality of life.
When I was 19, I suffered a painful accident while playing football which knocked my pelvis 2.5 inches to one side. I thought I’d never be able to do the activities that I love ever again. The misalignment led to chronic back pain from my low back to my shoulders, and eventually turned into chronic headaches. I was having difficulty focusing, I could hardly walk and getting out of bed was near impossible.
Gratefully, a healthcare practitioner identified what was wrong and after lots of rehabilitation and help correcting the issue, I now do all the activities I love, with grace.
I am dedicated to what I do because I know what it feels like to be in an unbelievable amount of pain, to seek answers from professionals who can’t identify what’s wrong and to be at the end of my rope exhausted and in pain, wondering if I would ever return to my normal activities again.
I can hold space for you because I’ve been there and I can coach you because I’ve journeyed through it myself and found a way to the other side.
I developed ActiveX through my private practice, to help move people out of pain and suffering into joyful, dynamic lives.
Over the years, many people have come to me exasperated saying, “I’ve tried everything and nothing has worked.” In as little as 3 sessions, my clients have seen results, sometimes even fixed relief from aches, pains, injuries, nerve issues that have bothered them for years.
I created Next Step Fitness to bridge the gap between Physical Therapy and Personal Training Bootcamps which are more concerned with aesthetics than proper alignment and tend to overstress the wrong muscles in order to ‘get the job done.’
Next Step Fitness is specifically tailored to meet you exactly where you are. The workouts are challenging but also restorative because it’s my philosophy that you should feel good after you workout. My approach is thorough, thoughtful and applicable to your specific needs. I take a multi-faceted approach to healing because once you are pain free you can start to tackle your goals and challenge the limits of what once felt impossible.
A graduate of Indiana University’s top ranked kinesiology program- I’ve studied health and body mechanics for over 16 years. I’m also certified in Thai Massage, Yoga, Kinesio- Taping, Power- Plate Training, Personal Training and more.
